An historic Resort
The oldest archaeological evidence of use of Balaruc-les-Bains thermal water dates back to the Gallo-Roman period.
It is in the Renaissance that we find the first evidence of the use of thermal waters.
1579:The first scientific book describing the therapeutic qualities of the Balaruc-les-Bains Thermal Water is published by the professor of medicine, Nicolas DORTOMAN, from Montpellier.
1732 : Construction of the “Pavillon Sévigné” first Thermal Station in Balaruc-les-Bains.
1868 :The source is declared of "public interest".
1927:Balaruc-les-Bains is classified "Climate Station" which will officially confirm the benefits of the Mediterranean climate.
1969 : Inauguration of the "Athena" Thermal Station.
1973 :The station is classified as "New Touristic Station".
1987 : Opening of the second site of care "Hesperides”.
2009: Approval of the Balaruc-les-Bains Thermal Resort for a second therapeutic orientation: the Phlebology.
2010 : Launch of the “Thermaliv” new line of cosmetic care products for face and body containing Balaruc-les-Bains Thermal Water.
2012 : Development of the Thermal Spa “O'balia” in Balaruc-les-Bains.
2014 :Inauguration of the Balaruc-les-Bains future Thermal Spa.
